Makeshift Art Studios

As a commercially acclaimed artist, being forced to stay at home can be hard. We are here to make your life easier by going over your options for a make-shift artist studio in your own house.

Set a space aside:

One of the first things to keep in mind is to set up a space aside which can comfortably be a studio corner. To create this space you can either divide an existing room into half a studio with sheer white curtains or a sliding glass window. If the luxury of dividing a room into half is not an ideal situation at the moment, pick up a corner that can temporarily work as an artist's corner studio. If you are lucky to spare a room to make a studio, so make it.

2. Convert a closet:

We understand this might be hard to imagine, but a lot of artists resort to this makeshift studio. Typically, as one might imagine, you can remove the clothes from an extra closet and stack your paintings there instead. All your other art supplies including paint brushes, paint sponges, art stationery can be neatly in all the drawers of a closet.

3. Take over the garage:

This might seem absurd, but a garage as a studio is not a new idea. Lots of collectors, creators, scientists, have housed their nerd experiments in their garage. A garage gives you the freedom to go wild with your attempts and can be a fun space to explore your creativity. The secluded and closed off location of the garage also gives enough privacy to the artist to make art without any interruptions.

4. Make a rolling art cart and a travelling bar:

You must have often seen food carts. Well, an art cart is a similar invention. This could be a great travelling artist studio for a portrait artist who would really benefit from meeting as many people as possible to be a muse. Such an artist would thrive off a rolling art cart which can allow him to constantly change locations. If one is not in a metro city, scenic locations could greatly benefit a landscape artist with this type of moving studio.

Other crazy art studio ideas include, installing a fold down table, making an old piece of furniture an art table, storage or desk, or just converting your own room into a studio where you sleep too.
